Affiliation & Membership
The Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers was
established in 1971 as a professional representative association for
auctioneers, estate agents and valuers.
It has nominating
rights to Seanad Eireann and exists to promote and protect standards
among property professionals engaged in the valuation, sale and
management of real estate. In this way it also provides protection for
the consumer.
Membership of IPAV confers status on the property
professional and provides access to fellow professionals in Europe
through IPAV’s affiliation with the Confederation of European Estate
Agents. Furthermore:
- It is an effective and efficient way to learn about the profession
- It provides an opportunity to network with other professionals in Ireland and throughout the EU
- It also performs a vital role in keeping members up to date with current issues affecting practice.
Professional associations exist to promote and protect standards through codes of ethics and in this way act as a watchdog for the consumer
